- What is an EA (Enrolled Agent)?
An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals. For more information click here http://www.naea.org/memberportal/Resources/ForTaxpayers/whatis_EA.htm
- How do you charge?
We charge by the amount of work completed. Our clients find our work accurate and affordable. In general, our rates compare to the chain preparers, however we can give personal attention in a comfortable, private setting.
- Where are you located?
We are in Durham, CT which is in the center of the state, just south of Middletown. We are just off of Rt 68 and can be reached by Rt. 9, or Interstate 91 or 691. We are about 1/2 hour from Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury and the shoreline. Please feel free to call for specific directions from your location. To set your GPS, use 5 Old Wallingford Rd., Durham, CT 06422
- Do you do taxes for other states?
Yes. Every year I complete returns for clients who live in other states- or live in CT and work in other states- sometimes several other states. I also complete partial year returns for Connecticut as well as for other states.
- I made (or another preparer made) mistakes on my past returns, can you correct them?
Yes, we can work with you and the IRS or any state Tax Department to correct past returns.
- I haven't filed for a few years...
We understand sometimes things slip by. It is more important to get your taxes completed and filed then worrying about why you're filing late.
- I received a letter from the IRS- can you help me resolve it?
Yes, we can work with you and the IRS or any state Tax Department to resolve tax issues.
- I re-located from another state, can you help me with my company reimbursed moving expenses?
Yes, we can prepare tax documents for you to submit to your employer.
- My spouse or parents passed away last year, can you do their return?
Yes, we can work with the surviving spouse or the executor of the estate to complete necessary tax returns.
